Summer Update

The Dosiwallups

The Dosiwallups

The 2014 summer has been a busy time for the Gallery.  We are totally settled in our new Bainbridge Island location and our darkroom is fully operational for film processing and printmaking.  Our website has been redesigned and is up.  We thank SpiderLily Web Design in Poulsbo for the fine work.

In June we hosted a Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce “After Hours” reception.  We thank Rex and Mickey at the Chamber for facilitating this event and Robert Freitag at Metro Market here on the Island for the fine food.

Also in June we had three of our large prints hung for display in the Governor’s mansion in Olympia for the Inslee family and the public to enjoy.  The mansion exhibits are curated by the Roby King Gallery, a long established art venue here in Winslow.  We thank Wes King and Andrea Roby for the opportunity to participate in this rotating exhibit.

We have become a popular stop on the Bainbridge First Friday Art Walks sponsored by the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association.  Please join us for these events each month from 6 to 8PM.  We show some new work each month along with a rotating exhibit of prints in the Gallery.

Finally we are continuing our non-profit support here at the Gallery.  We are primarily supporting the organization Washington Wild at this time, lending promotional help for the Wild Olympics proposal, which is a bill before Congress sponsored by Senator Patty Murray, and Representative Derek Kilmer.  It seeks to upgrade the protection of lands surrounding Olympic National Park and the streams that flow out of the Park.  We have been collecting images of the East flowing streams so far including the Hamma Hamma, the Duckabush, and the Dosiwallups.  Look for them on display in the Gallery and soon on our website.
